No one appreciates a random fact anymore... or they don't use search engines.
The Google logo was changed for the day since it's Robert Bunsen's 200th birthday...
Don't bother sharing that knowledge, no one seems to care too much...
Now this proves one of two things, I'm a nerd, because I appreciate a bunsen burner, or... I am a nerd because I spend most of my time googling (that sounds a bit weird) either way, I thought it's cool and no one else did... (just discovered a possible third reason)
Well, Happy Birthday Robert Bunsen...
(Just to prove people's lack of interest in science, that saves lives, people made a much bigger fuss over the Flinstones google logo)

It's official.
Wow, life changes rapidly!
One moment I thought I was leaving the States and then I thought I wasn't going anywhere...
Well its's official, I'm heading to the Philippines at the end of April and then Hong Kong after that. After another Asia adventure I will come back to the big Apple to enjoy the last month or so of summer and then freeze before I get to have a South African Christmas after two years.
All very exciting and slightly nerve wrecking at the same time.

A critical look at criticism...
What is the normal response to criticism?
I guess a bruised ego is the outcome, which fuels quite a bit of anger...
According to all those self help books, we should use criticism to grow and become better people...
Yes, got that, just one problem... (show me one person who actually reads a self help book and applies all of the advice?!) No one responds well to hearing that they're not good enough or that they're not up to standard.
Okay so now, I've noticed that the ones who are so good at handing out 'constructive' criticism are the worst at receiving criticism... No surprises there I guess, those who seek faults in others deny their own...
Sometimes I wonder how people can go through their lives finding fault with everyone else, the world, the government, but never themselves...
After questioning this, I wonder if it's ignorance or a complete misconception of themselves that cause this, or maybe I'm just too hard on myself? But then again, if we do not see our own faults how are we going to improve and become better, more caring, giving and kind?
All of this has been fueled by one recent event where the world's biggest critic received some criticism and it was a disaster for all those around. Talk about damage control...
The term practice what you preach seems to come to mind all of a sudden...

The Big Apple
I'm back in Manhattan, finally after being in Asia for about six months, I have returned.
Now is this a good or a bad thing? Good, I have a large variety of veggies (rephrase veggies that look familiar) Bad, I am freezing, it's suppose to be Spring, but there was still snow at the airport and in Central Park.
Not being here for six months makes one really see all the changes. I did not recognise 2nd avenue at all because there is construction all over for a new subway line, kinda awesome, except for the noise.
So many new stores have opened and old favourites have closed, but I'm guessing that's part of staying in the big city.
I have until the April to get use to being in NYC and then, all the way back to the Philippines to start the whole thing all over again.
Memo to self; No heavy luggage!
